Welcoming you to join a confidential and supportive group designed to acknowledge your unique struggle. The focus will be on the challenging journey of a mother whose child has been sexually abused either within, or outside of, the family.

Experience the warmth and acceptance of other mothers who have walked down a similar rocky path and gain tools to navigate your own individual journey.

About the Facilitators

Rivkah Menkes, M.S. is a certified family and group therapist as well as the Administrative Director of The Family Institute with many years of clinical experience. She maintains a private practice in Jerusalem as well as works at the Pinat HaYeled Children’s Unit at The Family Institute.


Rina Klein, M.A. is a licensed psychologist, certified family therapist and group therapist with post graduate training and many years of experience in the fields of clinical work with children, families and adults as well as those affected by trauma.

Support Group for Mothers of Teens at Risk

Join an eight week support group for mothers of emotionally challenged teens. Experience the warm support of a confidential group of mothers struggling in similar situations, as well as benefit from innovative ideas that will empower you to reframe your expectations and appreciate the results. The group will focus on themes such as tough love, communication skills, setting boundaries, acceptance, upholding family ideals and the impact of your child on the family dynamics.

About the Facilitator

Rivka Finkel has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and is a Certified Addiction and Substance Abuse Therapist. She is a qualified Organizational Consultant and Parenting Instructor. Rivka is the founding director of Olamot, a center that provides emotional and physical support for challenged teens. Currently the principle of Bnos Melech Seminary, an alternative school for Anglo-Yiddish speaking teens. She maintains her private practice, specializing in helping adolescents and their families.

Support Group for Women with Chronic Pain

Facilitated by Chavi Skolnick, M.S.

Living with chronic pain can be agonizing and lonely and the daily fight can be exhausting. You don’t have to do it on your own. Experience warmth, validation and growth in a support group designed for women struggling with chronic pain. The group will focus on the emotional aspects of creating the life you want in the body that you have.

About the Facilitator
Chavi Skolnick, M.S. earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Sociology from the University of North Texas, completed postgraduate training in family therapy at The Family Institute where she received extensive, specialized training in psychotherapy with children and their families. In addition to being the Director of Public Relations for The Family Institute and serving on the Children’s Unit, she maintains a private practice in Jerusalem.

About the Facilitator
Minky Rechnitzer, CMFT is a graduate of the Yanar Institute in Marriage and Family therapy. She has worked as an individual therapist in NITZA, an organization for women with pre- and post-natal depression and anxiety. She is currently working in private practice in Jerusalem with women struggling with anxiety, depression and childhood trauma, relationship issues, specializes in adult women with AD(H)D and has run groups for women with AD(H)D.

About the Facilitator
Lynn Finson, earned her M.S. from Hunter College in Guidance and Counseling. Before making Aliyah in 1995 she served as a guidance counselor and teacher in yeshivot in the New York area. Lynn was the educational director of a post university seminary in Jerusalem for close to 20 years. She currently works in Jewish Education as a teacher, speaker and counselor in Jerusalem.

About the Facilitator
Tobi Friedman, a graduate of Brooklyn College and The Family Institute, is a certified family therapist. Her focus is treating women with depression and victims of domestic violence. Prior to making Aliya, Tobi was actively involved on The Shalom Task Force abuse hotline and in their educational programs. Tobi works with both individuals and couples. She is currently a member of the Hatzalah Trauma and Crisis Unit. Tobi has a private practice in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh.
