General Therapy
Individual therapy is a process of self-reflection and growth. Clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a safe and confidential environment. Therapy encourages an individual to explore their feelings, history, beliefs, goals and then effect change in their personal lives. The goals of individual therapy are determined by the client and the therapist and client will work collaboratively towards those goals.
Couple's Therapy
Couple’s therapy is a method of therapy whose intention is to help couples improve their relationship. It is dynamic and includes both partners in the therapeutic process. Couples seek therapy for many reasons, some of which include: feeling stuck in behavioral patterns that are dysfunctional for their relationship, negative views of the relationship or partner, emotional or intimate avoidance, and communication challenges. Therapy encourages the couple to work collaboratively towards a healthier and happier marriage.
Family Therapy
Family Therapy focuses on real relationships with family members. Much of an individual's pain and suffering derives from family relationships that were hurtful or insufficient. By correcting these relationships a person experiences both outer and inner change. Family therapy is becoming the leading modality at the Institute and our therapists are provided with intensive education and training in this treatment method.
Adolescent Therapy
Adolescence can be a challenging transitional period of becoming an adult. That is why adolescent therapy can be so effective. This type of individual therapy focuses on working with the teen to explore his or her goals, emotions and desires and help make sense of the world around him/her. Our adolescent-therapists work from a systemic approach, working with the family, school and other support systems to create a safe and emotionally holding environment for the teen.
Child Therapy
Just like adults, children can benefit from therapy. Children are in a constant and fluid process of becoming who they will be in the future and therapy for children is focused on helping them develop a strong sense of self, good relationships and emotional resilience. Our child-therapists work from a systemic approach, working with the family, school and other support systems to create a safe and emotionally holding environment for the child.
Trauma Therapy
Traumatic events can have long-lasting and sometimes devastating effects even many years after it occurred. Trauma therapy can help a survivor process the experience, build and strengthen coping skills and ultimately heal from the traumatic event.
Sexual Abuse Therapy
Sexual abuse can be traumatic and significantly life-altering. Therapy for survivors of sexual abuse requires a compassionate and educated therapist who understands and is experienced in treating sexual trauma. Our therapists are specialists in treating the aftereffects of sexual abuse and will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan based on your strengths, needs and goals.
